Privacy & Cookies

Last updated: 1 September 2026

This notice explains what DaLinkz ("we", "us", "the service") collects, the cookies we set and when, and the choices you have. It sits alongside our Terms of Service.

1. What we collect without cookies

  • Page content you enter - your display name, handles, links and any media URLs, plus the choices you make in the editor. All of this is public on your page. We also store a hashed portal password and a support PIN so you can manage the page.
  • Standard server logs - our hosting and CDN provider records the usual request data (IP address, user agent, timestamp, URL) for security, abuse prevention and reliability. These are not used to profile you.
  • A per-page view count - an aggregate number only. It is incremented by a small script on the page and is not tied to any identifier or cookie. You can see it broken down by day in your portal as a simple trend chart; that daily breakdown is kept for 3 months and then dropped automatically.

We do not ask for an email address, we do not build advertising profiles, and we never sell your data.

2. Cookies

DaLinkz sets no cookies by default. There is nothing to accept in order to use the service.

  • Your cookie choice - when you answer the banner we store dalinkz_consent in your browser's local storage (not a cookie, never sent to us) so we do not ask again. Clearing your browser data resets it.
  • Google Analytics - only after you accept - if you press Accept on the banner, Google Analytics 4 loads on our marketing pages and sets its cookies (_ga and _ga_<id>, expiring about 13 months after your last visit). We use it only to see aggregate visitor numbers and popular pages. It is not used for advertising or remarketing, and Google Analytics 4 does not log or store your full IP address.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile - the "are you human?" check on the create and contact forms may set a short-lived token to complete that check. It runs only on those forms.

3. Where analytics runs

Google Analytics runs on our marketing pages only - the home page, this page, the contact page and the terms page. Your public profile page (dalinkz.com/<your-link>) carries no analytics and sets no cookies, whether or not you accepted on the banner.

4. Third-party processors

We rely on these providers, who process data on our behalf under their own data-protection terms:

  • Cloudflare - CDN, TLS and the Turnstile bot check.
  • Google - Google Analytics (only with your consent) and Google Search Console. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

5. Your choices

  • Decline at the banner and no analytics cookies are ever set.
  • Change your mind at any time using the button below - it clears your stored choice and shows the banner again so you can accept or decline afresh.
  • Browser-level opt-out - you can also install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on or block cookies for this site.

6. Legal basis and your rights

We set analytics cookies only with your consent (as required by the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations). Our other processing - publishing your page, keeping logs, preventing abuse - relies on our legitimate interest in running the service and on performing our agreement with you.

Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection. Because we hold no email address or account, we identify a page's owner by its portal password or support PIN. To exercise a right, or if you have a complaint, contact us.

7. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time. The "last updated" date above will change; significant changes to how we use analytics will also reset your cookie choice so you are asked again.
